A rose

by Piper   May 2, 2005

Sitting alone
next to the weeds
gleaming with beauty
and with all it’s needs

as pretty as a dove
flying in the midnight air
its scent is so sweet
like it has no despair

its pedals so bright
like the moons glare
the tears start falling
as you begin to stare

its heart as strong
as a concrete wall
you start to cry
and it begins to fall

you try to help
but it’s already too late
you try to move along
but you’re stuck on the fate

it stays in your heart
like it was someone you knew
as powerful as lightning
what it made you go through

you’re walking along
and suddenly you froze
and all you see
is a beautiful red rose
