My Personal Demon

by Bryce Ellner   May 10, 2005

Trudging along the shadowed valley
Surrounded by things I forgot once
They've come back to haunt me
Breeding lies I can't help but believe
I hear the whispers in the darkness
I feel their gust as they brush past me
And if I try to look away, they are there as well
Staring strait back into me.
Long now have I walked this path
My footsteps disappear behind me
As if I'd never been here at all
As if I had never been at all.
She appears to me from time to time
Bearing blooded fangs and blackened horns
Her pale skin so silky smooth
And crimson eyes piercing into mine.
She comes so me and takes my hand
She kisses me ever so gently
And when she bites my lip
And begins to disappear
I gaze into of fate
And know that she'll return
I hope one day she'll finish her job
And end this suffering for me
For it is I who is the one in love
With the demon inside of me.
