Slowly Fading

by Fig   May 11, 2005

In the fields of lavender
a woman lies
basking in the sun
dying happily
slowly fading
like the purple to the grey
soft silver hair spread on the ground
yet the beautiful aroma lingers in your mouth

bathe in the light
live by dying
love once more

and the leaves drip thier ink
green to the red
red to the death
rain to the ice of the tears of the life
faded and gone

yet the beautiful aroma still lingers in your mouth

Or an old tired swallow lying in the arms of its love
Fades so slowly, its overtaken by the sunset
And drifts off to sleep in the ice of the night
As its tiny heart beats its last sad refrain to the sun
and slows and stops like and old pocketwatch

Yet the beautiful aroma still lingers in your mouth
Lavender...
