Makes You Feel Alive, Doesn't It?

by †JustAri†   May 17, 2005

When she's certain she's alone
She rolls up her sleeves
Revealing the thin beaded lines
Some old, some new

After the first few slits she would flich and shut her eyes tight
But now she's adjusted to the bumps rising on her skin
The hair on the back of her neck standing up straight from the thrill
She's almost glad that she can't stop

She thought that she'd try it once just to feel what it was like
But what she found was the fascination of watching crimson droplets steadily emerging from her skin
She had finally found a way other than breathing to have a release
And with the sleek blade clenched in her fist she starts again

Tonight she finishes a brand new session
Lying on the bed and smiling at the ceiling
The novel sets of cuts stinging in the pleasure of finding the oxygen it thrives on
And her body's alive

Still tortured
Still scarred
Still just lying there
Still solid

But still alive
