This is Me Now

by chelle   May 24, 2005

The little feet that only walked in your footsteps now want to make their own.
The little hands that once held yours are asking to be let go.
This is me now.
The little brown eyes once filled with wonder have seen more than you could know.
The mouth that spoke with innocence is now saying, "It's time to let me go."
This is me now.
The heart that once loved only you has had it share of aches and pains.
The little ears that heard the answers may now never be the same.
This is me now.
The once a little girl is all grown up you see.
It is time to let me go, time to set me free.
This is me now.
No matter where life takes me, no matter where I go,
I am the girl I am today, and for this I thank you so.
This is me now.

*I wrote this poem for my parents to give to them on my graduation...please tell me what you think*
