Torn

by David Munoz   Jun 2, 2005

I close my eyes and cannot see
The beauty of your face
For my mind is letting go
Wanting another to take your place

But my heart still holds on
With the feelings that still are true
Moving with each passing beat
The love I feel for you

I sit on my bed and think of you
And knowledge fills my mind
Knowing we may never have
The love we hope to find

But my heart just takes you in
For you are the air it breathes
Remembering memories of happiness
As it continues to believe

Now I sit in front of you
And my head does understand
But my heart still beats
And wants to hold your hand

Now I sit beside you
My mind trained not to miss
What my heart is yearning for
Your one special kiss

Now I'm standing all alone
And my body begins to mourn
For as long as my mind and heart compete
My soul is tattered and torn

Great expression! The mind and heart competing! God, don't I know what that's like! Amazing! 5/5 David! It's wonderful!
