The Perfect Sacrifice

by Ironic Allure   Jun 3, 2005

Drenched in guilty nothingness,
You just turn around and leave,
And I search for something true,
But you're all I can believe.

My world cannot stop spinning,
And the time keeps passing by,
I scream away my lonely nights,
But my tears will not run dry.

Breaking free and running for,
The long awaited finish line,
Eluded from the complication,
Of the girl you've left behind.

But to taste the sweet results,
You come back to find the end,
My worst nightmare; a reality,
Which you refuse to comprehend.

This lifeless ruin before you,
Leaves no mark to fulfil guilt,
Simply a reminder of the love,
Your selfish lies had built.

And the beauty stood beside you,
Flinches and scorns your past,
Disgusted, she treads and spits,
Upon my heart of broken glass.

Turning again, you let me hear,
The voice I've missed so long,
But the words of deep grimace,
Confirm I've never been so wrong.

And with no needed hesitation,
You let the words ring clear,
'I've never felt so good'
..And that's all I need to hear.

Use the rusted blade to cut,
Rip my heart with every slice,
You can leave me open wounded,
As your perfect sacrifice.
