The story of a used and abused child

by ~*^*~ longing to belong ~*^*~   Jun 5, 2005

At home her father hated her,
At school her friends tormented her,
It seemed like no one loved her,
But she pretended it did not bother her,
She went through each day,
Wishing it could be her last,
She looked to the future,
But had visions of the past,
She hid the bruises on her face,
With large amounts of foundation,
Her father was drunk again last night,
He came to her body for compensation,
She longed for him to be finished with her,
To let her go back to bed,
This guy had messed her around to much,
He had even messed up her head,
She thought this abuse was normal,
After all, it happened since she was six,
He’d always played these little games,
He was always up to those sick tricks,
He told her, he had always looked after her,
That mommy had wanted it this way.
(Her mother had died when she was young)
He said now was her turn to repay,
She believed every word he said,
It was what she had always been told,
But it did not stop her dying inside,
It didn’t stop her heart growing cold,
Tears came when she thought of the knife,
Shut safely in her home,
She longed for the moments when,
She and the knife were alone,
She hated the fact it had come to this,
That she had sunk this far,
She hated the scars and lines which,
Now did cover her arm,
One night it came to her,
That there was a way to finish it all,
She knew she was so numb inside,
That the pain wouldn’t hurt at all,
So she made her plans,
And left a note,
She walked down the stairs,
And put on a coat,
She walked out the door,
With her head held high,
For she alone knew,
That this was the last time,
That no longer would she,
Have to face each new morning,
Dreading the future,
But knowing what was coming,
She knew that it would all end soon,
That before to long,
She would be dead,
And no would no longer, not belong.

This is the story,
Of a little girl,
Who never fitted in,
She never felt wanted,
She never felt she belonged,
In her own life,
So she gave up.

Please do not follow this girls example, or the example set by those around her. Do not be the father who does not care for his daughter, do not be the bullying peers and please do not be the child taking it out on herself, because there are people out there who care for you, no matter what you think or believe, there is always someone.
