Wednesday

I woke up this morning
just to pick up the front page
and see all the bullshit
thats laid out to be played
and it all just makes me wonder
what the hell god had in mind
when he left us here to repair
what he couldn't keep in line
so as i started out, out on the street
my eyes refused to lead my feet
i was following someone
who was content to follow me

we were walking like we knew the truth
why we all dance to this unsung tune
or the coffee cups, that run out way too soon
or the trees that all the frat boys use
and the cars that wed refuse to lose
in our minds everything seemed right
we were walking in the wednesday morning light

like the sweaters patched in GBH
like their cigarettes burnt out with age
and the bearded man, who stops to ask your name
or the fat kids in your old lunch line
their name which you've escaped in time
come back in little stories that you tell
so as i started out, out on the street
my eyes refused to lead my feet
i was following someone
who was content to follow me

we were walking like we knew the truth
why we all dance to this unsung tune
or the coffee cups, that run out way too soon
or the trees that all the frat boys use
and the cars that wed refuse to lose
in our minds everything seemed right
we were walking in the wednesday morning light

One could assume that you have at least considered using this poem as a song. Then again...all poems are songs and songs-poems.

Anyways, "I was following someone who was content to follow me"
That has to be my favorite part of the whole thing!

I've been reading all of your poems and I seem to be having troubles finding any errors in them. Nothing that needs to be changed and no suggestions. That shows me that you are truly a poet! A good one!
