Coat of many colors

by Nikki   Jul 6, 2005

Black the color of my heart,
Losing the strength to beat.
Growing tired by the minute,
No way to speak.

Gray the color of my eyes,
Beneath lies the sorrow.
Hoping tomorrow never comes,
To many tears shed.

Crimson the color of my wrist,
Scar after scar,
Holding memories that exist,
Nightmare upon nightmare.

Clear the color of my tears,
Deep inside I weep.
Hoping for a better life,
Blinded by the hate.

Dark the color of my soul,
Bounded by chains,
Penning me down,
Praying for rain.

These many colors are part of me,
And everything that exist in me.

    Excellent work on this poem!
I loved the whole colour metaphors.
They really showed a darker side to the spectrum
    5/5!!
