Weeping Wolf

by Weeping Wolf   Jul 8, 2005

A sacred forest deep in wonder
Small streams trickle down silently
The trees whisper against the wind
Lone eagle soars above the stars
Dust arises to form the rainbows
Where the sun never hits the ground
And the shadows shine brightly
When there is no one around
The unknown becomes real in this forest
Where the creatures of the dark roam

Alone, in a small clearing
Yet hidden by the growing shadows
There is an animal- lays shivering
As her shallow breathing of misery
Is seen from her shimmering crystal coat
Fluorescent white coat, pale expression
No sign of life until you see
A soft droplet slide down with grace
Tears that are shed in silence
From beautifully sorrowful eyes

There lies the weeping wolf
For all she ever lived for and loved
Has left her here alone: without a mate
For only an hour ago; shots sounded
Loud thunder struck from behind
And now the male lays here-
His blood scalding the ground
She sits by his side…waiting…
But never again will he wake

In a deep forest so sacred
Lies the weeping wolf
Who will never again feel
Happiness in her soul
For all she ever loved
Is tragically swept away
Forever crying silent tears
In sorrowful eyes
the Weeping wolf

Very nice. Good word choice and it had great imagery. Of course it sounds more a story though. But still good.
