That (was the) Day

by Naaria   Jul 15, 2005

I crept to bed so slow that night
Not looking forward to the next day
I thought about why I was doing this
He didn't deserve what was coming his way.

The day came and fear fell from my eyes
and now that I think back to that day,
Everything moved so slow. As if
giving me time to back away.

I waited what seemed like an eternity
But really, it was only two hours
And before I knew it, they called my name and
My mouth started to go sour.

I entered a small room and
Again I was given a chance to back down
I was too scared to speak up and
the time came to lift my gown.

I was in position, and everything went fuzzy
I don't remember all, my mind must have went wild
I don't dare to recall it because that was the day
That I killed my unborn child.

I can't realy say much about this...it is so sad, the last lines brought tears to my eyes. It is written well, the evets unfold well. But some parts of it might allow your reader to lose intrest. good poem though
