My Child : (if I had one)

by jarrod   Nov 4, 2003

A child is born
A stork is in flight.
My feelings are torn,
Have I done right?

This world is full of evil,
This evil has no equal.
Lies laden with deceit,
Only friends amongst defeat.

I want to keep him locked away,
Keep him from this rainy day,
From when he see the world in truth.
When he leaves his childhood booth.

I hold on dearly,
To all of my kin.
Keep them near me,
Away from all sin.

I’m willing to give all of my life,
For him whom I love.
Just to keep him full of strife,
So he will fly, just as a dove.

Majestic he will be,
Always left untainted.
The picture he will see,
Always pure and painted.

These things that I say,
Probably wont come true.
But on every single day,
I’ll always be there just for you!

A child is born,
A stork is in flight.
My feelings are torn,
Have I done right,
Bringing a child unto this world?
