Three

by Johnny Marlin   Jul 19, 2005

I have deep seated issues
No one can understand
Jason, Johnny, and Rob
All controlling my hand

Jason is irrational
But also my wild side
He's brought many moments
I probably should have died

Johnny's usually shy
But always speaks his mind
Charismatic at times
He'll get me out of a bind

Then there is Rob
He walks in the background
Though my given name
He never can be found

My girl, she loves Jason
But Johnny gets depressed
And where the hell is Rob
He should straighten this mess

But I won't give up on any
We're all unique in our way
Three people controlling me
Each and every single day

BRILLIANT POEM!...i agree, that sometimes the real us cant be found, it seems to hide behide a barrier - looking on .. we seem afraid to be who we really are...WHY?... It took me 40 years to take the courage to be who I AM(reminds me of a poem on this site called ...""I am who i am". it takes courage , i know..to be yourself...instead of what people want us to be.But when u do,your being true to urself, and will be happier,as i have found! We ALL need courage! Again, well written and 5/5!

Pretty freaking cool. I personally didn't think you needed teh last two lines of the last stanza. I liked the first two lines of it, but the last two kind of spelled out what you were getting at. I believe it was already noticeable in the poem and you didn't have to come outright and state it.
