Vulnerability

by Unseen Exposure   Jul 19, 2005

She looked back only to see lost promises and an empty trail
There was nothing but the brutal beating of comprehending the fail
She closed her eyes though she could not fight off reality or pain
Through anger she wept, but the release would not sustain
In grieving compassion and broken expressions of fault
She took in the words filling blood wounds with salt
She screamed bloody notions across dark skies and moons
Corrupted and mindless through fire mountains and fumes
He said there was something but it wasn't enough
Fooled by the crave and crushed by unwanted bluff
"It searches, it finds me, naive and fatally attached
To a girl so emotionally and physically detached"
She waited and suffered in fallacy and abolition
As her world slowly crumbled and fell out of commission
"Hope for such love" she said, "One day would thrill me.."
She continued and proclaimed, "But this vulnerability will kill me.

You ended this poem perfectly. It is hard to go into a relationship and it give it your all, knowing that you are setting yourself up for heartbreak. My love and I have broken up, yet again, and this time I thought it was going to kill me. Take care and I hope all is well.
