Only You Can Say

Ya know I have been thinking
And we don’t have a normal friendship.
Wait, wait just listen to me,
Please hear what I have got to say.
You and me, we’re different
But best friends any way.
While other people flat out say
“You are my best friend,
I love you with all my heart.”
We just go on feelings and moments
Which is why I don’t think we could grow apart.
Besides that, I don’t think I could ever let you go.
No, I am not going to stalk your house,
Or call you five times a day.
Just maybe once or twice,
What’s wrong with saying Hey?
There are times I wish I had said straight to your face
Word for word what I write in my poems
But what’s the fun in that?
I like a sense of mystery
And I don’t feel like traveling
All the way back through our history.
We have had way too many good times,
And far too many inside jokes.
We take the cake in chemistry
While others have to scribble down notes.
I don’t want this to be another cliché poem
Where I express all the obvious feelings in a rhyme
Cause like I said, I like a mystery
And that unspoken feeling I get every time
I see your face cause I can’t hold back a smile.
I don’t know what it is about you
But I think you have some crazy hidden file
Cause no one else has got what it takes
To make me run the extra mile,
Except for you cause you motivate me
To be the best person I could possibly be.
You have the ability to lift me up on to your wings,
Which you have done many times.
(Oh by the way, I’m sorry for having so many issues.)
But before I met you,
I wouldn’t have been able to open up,
And now you can read me like a book.
So I guess what I am really trying to convey
Is I love you like a sister
And that’s something only you can say.
