Am I foolish?

by John   Aug 17, 2005

Am I foolish for watching you from afar?
My eyes absorbing you;
Quenching thirst only your beauty can satisfy.
Am I foolish that I compare the smile upon your face
To a ray of sunshine through storm clouds passing?
But caught in that light, my dark moods are lifted.
Am I foolish to laugh at our silliness;
Not feeling judged or berated
For being human?
Am I foolish hearing a song in your voice?
Melodies of our interests shared, fond memories conveyed.
Our conversations become a harmony in my mind.
Am I foolish when I rest my cheek on your hair?
Soft, and scented as poppies
Lulling me into sweet dreams.
Am I foolish to want to reach out for your hand?
Entwining fingers as tight as knots;
To never let go or else be lost.
Am I foolish for feeling comfort in our embrace?
Every curve of our bodies touching
While rocking slowly to the song in our hearts.
Am I foolish for longing for the taste in your sweet kiss?
Finding desire in your soft lips
And knowing it is me in the fantasy you see
Behind your closed eyes.
Am I foolish to fall into the blue of those eyes
As our gaze finds each other
While our bodies move together as one?
My mind ponders these memories described
And as my lips react with a smile to the feelings in my heart,
I am guided quickly to the answers:
Happiness and joy,
The laughter shared,
Our Playfulness,
And passion,
Comfort and trust,
And so much more…
All combined, the true answer found.
It is not foolishness,
It is Love
