Appearances

Appearances change,
they twist and morph,
into something new,
into someone else.

People judge you,
on what you wear, and how you stand.
What color you wear most,
the way you present yourself.

I used to believe,
the way you dress is who you are.
But I was deceived,
you can't judge someone by what they wear.

You could dress goth,
or dress like a model.
You could dress like a tom-boy,
or even just normal.

But no matter who you are,
no matter how hard you try,
you can never fool yourself,
of who you are inside.

You can try all you want,
you can pray to the gods,
but you can never change,
the way you are.

Appearances can be deceiving,
if you act the right way.
You can fool the world,
with your little display.

Don't hide who you are,
from the people around you.
Let them whisper and stare,
you really shouldn't care.

Appearances change,
they twist and morph.
Don't judge a person,
until you've seen what lies in their heart.

    Well welll written with a well presented message. it is true that many people are judged upon how they appear rather than who they are, and this should not be the case. a fewof the lines seem to interupt the over all flow of this poem, but it always recovers very quickly so they do not weaken it overall.

    Wow great job on this one.. Its true todays society labels us as something we're not... its reallly stupid but let people be stupid as long as you dont believe it yourself right? Great message for people who are afraid of other people's judgements! awesome write ;)
