The soft word

by Amilo   Sep 4, 2005

I am experimenting with different styles of poetry.

...

it was the same
a soft smile and a soft word
the rustling of my fingers against
the slipperly night air
then I promised you
I'll come back again tomorrow.

it was the same
I caressed your name as I closed
the doorknob.
the darkness then swallowed all
my words
It swallowed me.
Time became long tangled cloth.

it was the same
a soft smile and a soft word
but do you know that this time...
I'm not coming back?
Goodbye.
the soft smile

my soft word.
