Angel Of Death

by Just Sierra   Sep 12, 2005

An angel shadows her room
And watches over her at night
She sees the dreams, she sees it all
She hopes to set things right

The angel walks into her dream
She sees the young girl cry
Her father has just beaten her
Oh, young girl please dont die

The angel sheltered her with wings
But her timing was too late
The angel hadnt stopped her father
Her eyes were filled with hate

And though she couldnt see the angel
She could hear the angels voice
The angel sang mournful songs
That implied a deadly choice.

The next day the girl walked to school
Her eyes were still so red
She walked in unnoticed
Sat against a wall and lifted her head.

She reached into the backpack
And pulled out a pitch black gun
The angels words hadnt yet left
But she was sure it was almost done.

Everyone walked on by
It was such a busy day.
She took one last glimpse of life
But could only see the gray.

She put her finger on the trigger
And put her head against the wall
She closed her eyes, counted to ten
And shot herself in the hall.

The bullet penetrated the angel
It shot right through her heart
The angel cried and bled
As her world had fallen apart

The people didnt notice
How could this even be?
Her blood is against the wall
And that angel must be me.

I cant remember what I said
That could cause her to do this crime
Surely I cant have died again
This must be the thousandth time.

A guardian preserves life
And if the angel should fail
She is to suffer death again
Oh, the pain I cant unveil

God now stands before me
And the crowed just walks on by
Why cant they hear me suffering?
Why cant they see me die?

"What did you say to her?"
He asks me with much detest
I stare at him through bleeding eyes
And try to answer him to my best.

"I told her what I have noticed.
What I have seen in teenage youth.
Theyre too oblivious to anyone else.
I just told her the truth!"

He glared at me so angrily
But yet he kept his cool.
He surveyed me then said aloud,
"You are an angel of a fool!"

"She tried to prove you wrong
By showing you they would care
Now look into her eyes
And tell me what is there."

I shook my head and held my waist
"Oh, God, there is no point.
I feel the coldness she felt;
I feel her pain in every joint."

"Oh God I am so sorry
But if only you knew...
Her father hits her al the time
What else was I to do?"

I sat on the falling floor
I couldnâ??t bare to see His alarm
But I could see my little girl
Sheltered beneath his arm.

"I know what he did to her
I put him on her case.
It was to bring out the strength in her
To help her realize her place."

"She belongs to this world
But she cant be here for the best
She was going to be a leader
And bring this world some rest."

"She was going to be a goddess
But you let her die.
I dont think its fair for her to fall
And for her angel of death to fly."

With that said he held me
Then ripped apart my wings
I trembled as cold eyes fell upon me
The crowd had seen everything...
