Death Laughs at Me

by Vanessa Lea   Sep 25, 2005

I have seen people waste away
Raped of the rest of their lives
Taken by diseases, uninvited, unprovoked
Left wanting, helpless - with unfinished business
Shed of dignity, independance

I've seen death where it is not welcomed
It laughed at me as I cried
It stole my innocence and left me changed
Where I once would have smiled, I wept
Where I once would have shed tears, I giggled

My heart is altered
I have seen unwelcomed tragedy
Bodies ravaged by pain
Don't bother smiling at me, death
I'm blind and I'm hollow.

This poem has a lot of emotion in it... which is good lol. Not all of it flowed great, but thats ok as long as you got out what you wanted to. Good job!
