That Box

by Ironic Allure   Sep 26, 2005

I guess that It's not much,
But I just have to say,
That I missed you once before,
But so much more today.

You offer me such comforts,
These words I heard before,
That left your lips with meaning,
Not felt here anymore.

That rose still lies untouched,
In a box beneath my bed,
Witch cards and little poems,
On post-it- notes that read;

"A daughter and a niece,
A Half sister and a friend,
My girlfriend and will always be,
That person 'to the end."

Your kisses left and buried,
Beneath our fading laughs,
Memories I'll neatly seal,
In a box I call my past.

So it's with a heavy heart,
My tears are dried from sight,
As a ribbons laces the edge,
Of this box I seal so tight.

Our relationship confined,
In 4 simple cardboard walls,
These memories forgetton,
As my final teardrop falls.

I give away my history,
The good times that once were,
This box of faded meaning,
Now belongs to her.
