The Girl And Her Grandmother

Have you ever sat awake at night
Becuase he was always on your mind?
Have you ever sat and thought
That true love, you did find?

Have you ever wondered
Why it was you he chose?
Have you ever been so speechless that you can\'t
Do anything but smile when he gave you a rose?

Have you ever thought this was perfect
The moments you\'d share until the end?
Have you ever thought- this is who I\'m marrying
He is my best friend?

Have you ever sat
And daydreamed while you were at school?
Aren\'t you so in love with him,
You\'re blinded like a fool

You\'d do anything for him
Go across the world and back
You\'d say a million \"I Love You\"s
But it\'s his love you lack...

You love him so much
But he loves her..not you
Have you ever sat and cried
Because you don\'t know what to do

Have you ever thought
\"This is the end of my life\"
Just because he was with her
You thought it was best to use a knife?

The next day at school
He walks up to you
You look down ashamed
You didn\'t know what to say or do

He grabs for your hand
But you step back
He looks at you curiously
You think \"did I really just do that?\"

He whispers quietly in your ear
\"I love you, not her..its you I wish to have\"
You feel your heart fly
Finally, movies, kissing, and all that jazz

Years go by and you get married
You have a baby
You\'re happy as ever
He\'s your man, and you\'re his lady

Your child had grown up now
And she\'s having a baby of her own
The only thing is..
She\'s all alone

Her boyfriend left her
When he found out
He didn\'t want to be a father
And his mistake, has to be paid out.

Your daughter is all alone
With a young child to raise
What ever happened to abstience?
Everything you taught her is a daze.

You think your granchild is a mistake
And you\'re angry with your own
You tell her she\'s so stupid
For doing this alone

5 years pass by
And the little baby you said was a mistake
Is the one that helps you
With every step you take

You were in an accident
And your daughter died
You were serverly damaged
And your granddaughter..she fought and cried

She remembers everything
That you\'ve always said
But she put it away in her mind
You think she\'s so beautiful now, as you carress her small head

She\'s no longer a mistake
She\'s your very best friend
What would you do if you were in this position?
Would you take her life to an end?

I don\'t think you should
What would you do without that little girl?
She means the world to you now
You\'d do anything, you\'d give her the world

That little girl, is all you have left
She\'s the one that you are closest to
You do everything together
You love her, and she loves you

That little girl is all grown up
She\'s getting married soon
And you\'ve repaired, you can walk
You\'re awake one night looking at the moon

The girl walks in
And gives you a hug
Everything you\'ve ever felt about her
Is sent up above

She says \"thank you
For everything you\'ve done for me
You\'ve made my life so much better
I was able to live happily

Even after momma died
In the crash
You kept me here with you
And made my life a smash!

I never knew
That I could have so much fun
You showed me to be me
And not put out for anyone

I can tell you\'re slowly leaving
And I wish that you would stay
You mean the world to me
And I have one last thing to stay\"

While the girl\'s grandmother
Slowly closed her eyes
\"I love you\" said the girl
Her grandmother passed away, this was no surprise

At the funeral, the girl was oh so sad
She didn\'t know what she\'d do
Her grandmother was all she had
She remembered the last words \"I love you\"

The girl got married
And had a few kids
She tells them stories about their great grandmother
All the laughter, and all the skits

Her kids think it\'s really funny
They all laugh at great-grandmother\'s jokes
Little did they know
How mommy could barely cope

So if this ever happens
Remember what I said
You never know when those you love
Can instantly wind up dead
