Lift the Veil

by Larry   Oct 22, 2005

I sometimes wonder when life shall end for me,
I anxiously await the time when God shall reveal it;
Of that day and hour knoweth no man,
For our Father in Heaven hath chosen to conceal it!

I sometimes feel unworthy of everlasting bliss,
I know I allow my soul to dwell in Satan's den;
I shall overcome all evil with God's help,
He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning in the And!

I have lost many things while on Earth:
Father, Mother, Brother, Why, and Child. All have left me for dead!
I am not foolish enough to believe I alone have suffered!
For Christ once asked, "The Son of Man hath where to lay his head?"

Some may choose to resent God after failing a trial of life,
Never understanding why man must stumble and fall;
I cheese to believe that God is fair and just,
I understand that life is utterly cruel unto us all!

    Good poem, its a sensitive approach to a difficult matter for some people. i really like your elegance and ease in writing, you make it seem soo efortless, very different to lots of peopple on this site whose poetry is full f forced rhymes and over worked metres. good poem! yey, be happy!
