A Different World For Children

by Ashleigh Skye   Oct 26, 2005

Stuck in a world where money and power mean everything,
and greed is a common flaw,
where a man can rig an entire election,
and not get proscutated by the law.

A world where a few powerful friends,
can make or break a career,
a world where a biast movie,
can win film of the year.

We are stuck in a world where criminals,
get better treatment than those who are free,
a world where the ill are punished,
because they don't act like you or me.

A world where beauty can take you everywhere,
but smarts only go so far,
and world where we judge a man's worth and status,
mearly by the price of his car.

A world where the rich get richer,
and the poor simply fade away,
what type of world is this that we live in,
with so many people going astray?

So I am sitting here with my thoughts,
should I bring my child into this place,
or would she simply be better off,
if her smile became erased?

She wouldn't have to put up with the struggles.
see all the horrible things that I've observed,
will she end up being with someone who hates her,
or will she get the man she deserves?

I cannot protect her from the darkness,
the horrible life of being poor,
so when the procedure is finished,
with the angels she will soar.

She will have a better life,
than she could ever have had here,
but still whenever I think about her,
I cry a single tear.

I've thought from every possible angle,
but my decision has been made,
if things were a little bit different,
then my baby might have stayed.

But there are to many horrible things,
that will happen to her if she's here,
so by giving her to the angels,
they can wipe away that tear.

I just hope that she will forgive me,
when we meet once more,
and hopefully we can be a family,
the one we couldn't be before.

Hopefully she will understand,
why I had to do what I did,
I wasn't ready for her,
for I myself was just a kid.

That was heart-wrenching, and I can only hope that it isn't true...It was very sad.

    Good Writing!
