When it's Gone

by David Munoz   Oct 26, 2005

Isn't it funny how we never look back
Until something tells us this could be it
We never really realize that what we have is temporary
And that it could be gone in a minute

We never appreciate what we have
Until it's all gone away
We never realize what we missed
Until our very last days

We never appreciate our best friends
Until they are friends no more
We never realize we held ourselves back
Until we see what was in store

We never appreciate the little things
Until all the little things are gone
We never realize it could have been us
Until that moment comes along

We never appreciate our neighbors
Until the day we move
We never realize how hard life is
Until our blindfold is removed

We never appreciate the one we love
Until that love is rejected
We never realize we weren't complete
Until the moment it was accepted

We never appreciate the time we have
Until there is no more time to kill
We never realize we would still have that time
If we only lived before until
