Rivers Of The Heart

by HJ   Oct 27, 2005

I shall never forget.
With delight and surprise.
The first time we met.

In the strength of my despair.
We were more alive than ever.
Guardian of my heart, perfect pair.

I'll start the conversation, you said.
There was a burst of laughter.
You buried every tear I had ever shed.

Staring wildly into my face.
Our love-making was perfect.
Panting for breath, you had won the chase.

The thrill of pleasing you.
So many choices have fallen upon me.
But I stood by and time flew.

Your eyes once beamed.
Fearless, loving and truthful.
Alas everything not as it had seemed.

Autumn is finally here.
Golden trees, how brief the summer.
Ghostly companions fade away with no fear.

Left with no freedom, evening falls.
The brilliance of the day ends.
Lost in the dark no one hears my calls.

Diminishing everything between you and me.
What happened to you?
Protection from the onslaughts of reality.

I look at the world in a different light.
Dark rivers of the heart.
Don't let me stop this fight.

I'm tired, the stars are broken again.
How many times do we part this world?
Nothing left here, in the end.

Hold your mouth close to mine.
Tell me the reason's why.
Are you scared of me, has your time ran out?

takes a while then ten I can write in
a day...I believe this poem was worth
    the wait...

Thank you so much Adel that is so sweet of you. I am currently working on a new piece. But anyone whom knows me will tell you that I always do take a while. Always have been like that, dont know why.

I promise within the next couple of days I will be entering my latest poem.
