My Nightmare

by John Bowlby   Nov 2, 2005

You lie there,
In the hospital bed,
My worst nightmare,
You're bleeding from the head.

I asked you not to do it,
I begged you not to go,
Now you're bleeding from the hit,
Your heartbeat starts to slow.

I hold your bloody hand,
The glass cut you like a knife,
Away slips the sand,
From your hourglass of life.

Your hourglass breaks on the floor,
I cry for the first time in years,
Your life no more,
It fulfills my biggest fears.

I cannot live without you,
I cannot live at all,
I stab myself too,
On top of you I fall.
