I am the student
Fighting the tears
Saving the crying
Till no one is near

I am the daughter
Coming each day
With tons on my mind
But nothing to say

I am the friend
With so much to hide
Keeping the secrets
That are deep inside

I am the sister
With sadness in me
Striving to be
The best I can be

I am the girlfriend
Acting so strong
Hiding my tears
Like nothing is wrong

But I am myself
When I cry at night
Hoping things
Will be alright

Wondering why
I pretend to be tough
When can I be me?
When will that be enough?
