Flesh and Bones Pt. I & II

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Arranged attacks on your mind
Sweltering heat leaves you blind
The teeth show white and gnash
Green as envy and the flow of cash
Where do you see yourself in years?
Gathering up reasons for your tears?
Subliminally, you moan and pass
Looking at you is like looking through glass
So easy to find you weak
And your outlook on life is bleak
So wounded is your heart
To mend it, you don't know where to start
The thoughts are crowded in veils
Like a Christ, you stick through the nails
Bleeding outward for all to see
Your world is all just make believe
A path through the setting sun
So enamored to please everyone
Can't ever think of your own
Reasons to be known
Let us in behind the curtain
Oz wasn't even this uncertain
Lay in a field of poppy drugs
Deny the world with your offhand shrugs
- - - -
What brought you here?
You suffer more than you let on
What throws you off?
Nothing is everything when you're gone
How many times?
Before you settle to the grave
How many souls?
Did you finally get to save
Who turned you off?
