Mausoleum Pt. I & II

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Brick by brick
My soul is sealed
Sadness is my mortar
And apathy, the stones
That shut me inside
This marble prison
I'm so afraid
That I might not be...
Might not be afraid enough
When does fear change?
Ceasing to help
And starting to hinder
I could collapse under this weight
Only if I'm lucky
This burden may
If left untended
Be forever breaking my back
Brick by brick
Stone by stone
Moment by moment
Breath by breath
I suffocate
---------------------
The glory fades...
The hero dies...
The Ghost persists...
In his eyes...
This hopeful longing...
His greatest curse...
Hearts and thoughts...
Will disperse...
A blinding flicker...
Of white light...
He's going home...
Home tonight...
Tonight
