Hand Gestures

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Hand gestures caress the skyline with fiery love
Rapid cessation of being that watches itself flow homeward
Jesus loves the little children and God hates a coward
Balloons fly to the sky with little messages taped to the tail
"Jesus, I've been baptized; send cookies!"
I heard that people thought I had died
I heard that people thought I was crying
No; not dead, not dying
Not hurt, no crying
Just my hand gestures that caress the skyline with a fiery love
------------------------
Stars in my eyes on a valium high
Retreat in to myself as the world passed by
Not a hint of my scars to the naked eye
Just a puncture wound and a heavy sigh
Slow motion function waiting to bleed
From wounds in my eyes trying to recede
And all the pain passed in what I read
So, I look to the earth as I plead

Quite different than expected. The word choice excellent, the fluency great. I thought it well-very well-written.
