You Look Real Pretty When You Scream

by bex   Nov 9, 2005

You look real pretty when you scream
I guess your practice paid off this time
She said I'd amount to so much more, no excuse, I tried and failed

We are the has-beens, the futures lost and found
While old memories lay in the ground, I'll be standing still
The men who loved you come and go
As each smile kept you bound, I'm drowning in forever
Just let me know you'll be alright

He looks real ugly in between
That mask he held now lies upon my floor
Blacked-out, so I'll play this sweet melody and mime those parts I couldn't figure out

We are the has-beens, the futures lost and found
While old memories lay in the ground, I'll be standing still
The years that pass leave us no clues, only misfortunes in our heads
Time can meddle with each regret; we sleep flawlessly in your bed
Lain in this comfort, just let me know you'll be alright

If I came back tomorrow would you still do those things you do?
Could I count on each subtle move you make to claim me, or would I lose?
Will that smile be fastened on your lips? So tight, could it fray?
You hold is loose, your hand is limp
In nothing but my memory
You look real pretty when you scream.
