Torn Circus

by Cantchangeme   Nov 10, 2005

Roll up everybody
See the circus of freaks
See the broken girl
With her body so weak

Ladies and gentlemen
And children of all different ages
Her pain is forever on show
And every single war she wages

Watch the clowns dance
Oh how happy they are
To set your skin on fire
And watch your eyes char

Your life’s a trapeze artist
You are in flight and your soul it does sore
But then they cut the wire
And your soul will fly again nevermore

Watch everybody
Watch the pathetic humanity lament
The broken youth
Crying now without your sentiment

Roll up every body
The freak show is in town
See the beaten boy
Who carved his own frown

Were all a torn circus
We all wear the smiles of clowns
As fake as our faces seem
And the shadows that forever mirror us
Will forever haunt us in our dreams

This poem hits me deeply becasue of a person you could say "joke" between me and my friends, the principal of our high School called us freaks, and he didn't want to be running a side show. So this poem really hits me. It was a great write!! and also a great read, I am adding you to my favorites, you are a talented writer
