Carolina Christmas

The crisp cool winter breeze
Blows softly as snow covers the ground
Children's hearts are simply glowing
With the beauty of Christmas all around.

The fire's burning in the fireplace
The stockings all hung in a row
The aroma of cakes and gingerbread
Ohhh, How I love Christmas so.

Christmas carolers singing, "Away in a Manger"
A song that tells the story well
Understanding the reason of the season
The story we all should tell.

The Christmas tree all decorated
With old ornaments throughout the years
Sits in the very same old corner
Now I can feel the tears.

Each yr. we place an ornament on the tree for Mom
A tradition we've done for many yrs.
In our hearts how we miss her
Christmas always brings us tears.

We all take just a moment
To stand by the tree and embrace
Remembering our Mom's Love
In our hearts she left her faith.

Now the kids open their gifts
Happiness fills their hearts
Their little smiles and big hugs
Eases the pain within our hearts.

We sit around drinking apple cider
Singing all our favorite songs
Reminiscing about past memories
Creating new ones as we carry on.

As we look out snow continues to fall
The ground is white as a dove
Our hearts are warm as the fire
Because of our family's LOVE!!
