Snowflake Perpetuous

by Drew Gold   Nov 26, 2005

An effigy of anguish with a frosted demeanor, I am,
fervently languid in the center of your paradox.
On the burning edge of your fingertip, I slide,
cascading down your side, settling by your feet.
Grovelling I am, frozen again in my cyclical defeat.

A short descriptive take on a snowflake. I liked your use of descriptive diction because there are too many poems around with none of this, but I can't help thinking that somewhere you took it too far. It's just that every other word is not one of everyday vocab and this makes the message of the poem somewhat hard to grasp. I liked the diverse imagery you used though. Just try to remember the poem should tell itself, and the effect the complex words have contradicts this. Nice work though, it makes me look forward to winter.
