Beholder of the Lioness

by Nikkey   Dec 4, 2005

There is a lioness within me,
she hears what I hear and sees what I see.
Her soft sandy fur that hides with the sun,
she seeks for danger, for hope, for fun.

Almost like a leopard with patterns of spots,
she knows what is right, and she knows what is not.
As quick as a strong and swift wind,
she's fast, and now her hunt will begin.

She roars like an earthquake when anger occurs,
she leaps ever so quiet when trouble has stirred.
Her silence like night, lonely, yet wise,
she touches my thoughts and lives in my eyes.

Carefully watching for friends and foe,
she shares with me all that she knows.
I wish she will live forever in my mind
for years and years, until the end of time.

She makes me want to reach out to the world,
and show them the secret within this girl.
She has created my mind as brave as can be,
there is a lioness that lives within me.
