Will You? (My Marriage Proposal)

by John   Dec 5, 2005

Darling, you are my soul-mate,
Another poem to spell this out
To tell you how much you mean to me,
And keep us free from doubt

You're in my thoughts throughout the day
At night you're in my dreams
I live just to be with you
You're such a part of me it seems

Laughter, smiles, and such good times
So much we have shared
It's become so hard to put to words
How much, for you, I care

I so often drift in our memories
And dreams of the future too
Dreams that give way to the hope
Of a lifetime spent with you

To wake with you in the morning,
To kiss your lips goodnight
To feel your arms around me,
Cuddling with me every night

To see you smiling every day,
That smile that I live for
Holding hands and being with
This girl that I adore

I'll never take you for granted;
We'll share laughter through the years
And I promise to be your shoulder if
You need to shed a tear

Our lifetime spent together
Is what I'd truly like to see
I want you always by my side
Suzanne, will you marry me?

For those that have been following my poems for Sue, I'll let you know, that on Saturday, December 3rd, she said "YES!" to this poem.
