Being pretty has only got me so far
Right into your arms
but not in your heart
You say I'm easy on the eye
but hard to read
Well I'm not buying
because I tell you all about myself
in my poetry
Haven't you read between the lines
under each smudge
it's all there
all I'm ashamed to be
Each letter defines a new emotion
another revelation
and all there is to know about me
but you say I'm hard to read
when I keep erasing the very best of me
