Hurricane 05'

by Juls   Dec 10, 2005

Men and Women
Searching for loved
ones lost
Children crying
afraid they will never see
Mommy and daddy ever again

Searching for the house
you could once call a home
You look at it now you call it
wood planks thrown around
Your two story house is
laying on the wet ground

Every corner you turn
a dead body lies there
without a proper burial
without a name
Strangers take the body
throw it in the pile with the rest

Such a wonderful place
To raise a family and
build a home is now
known as a dister to to our world
People give caution
of the unknown

We knew it was coming
We didn't expect to get
hit so hard
We should have evacuated
it might of saved many life's
it could have...it would have

Hurricane Katrina
hit all of us hard
It will teach us a lesson
and open our eyes

To be aware of are surroundings
and never to build below
sea level ever again

*tell me what you think, I dont usly write these types of poems.

I really like this one. yes, it's so sad knowing that one thing in this world can distory a hole bunch of people and it's really nasty knowing the fact that once you turn a corner is a dead body there, i mean what if it was someone you know it's really horrifing knowing that. You brought this up to everyone in here and i'm glad keep it up. keep on writing. very talented woman. love always and forever.

Wonderful. I went down to New Orleans with my mother to rescue animals, and I saw how heavy a hit Katrina was, and I wanted to write something to show my emotions, but I couldn't, and you did great, I love it. The details are horrifying, but you presented them amazingly. Great job, this is a compelling peice and I know you don't write these kinds of poems often, but maybe think about it.
