A Lasting Love

by HJ   Dec 11, 2005

I touched the traces of your steps last night.
Turning a love to pain.
The wind screaming my name.

Help me endure this darkest moment.
My eyes close and time slips away.
Stolen hours fall into a new day.

You listen to the stories I tell.
Kissing me with your fingertips.
The sky blushes, as you taste my lips.

Under the rivers skin I no longer hide.
I know you meant no harm.
Who wouldn't fall for your charm.

You wounded me, but forgiveness is granted.
The long hours within your soft embrace.
I hold out my hand to touch your face.

I'm a women built only to last.
I burn for you night and day.
Tossing the moon and stars your way.
