Imperial Love

by bex   Dec 13, 2005

How could I disguise this?
An imperial love, I could never resist you.

A tender kiss is all I dwell upon
Sustained only by the scraps of last month's matinee
Kept hungry to concentrate on my faith
This faith became our mutual bond.
We kindle that likeness.

The messages pestered to be read aloud.
Our passion trembles in each word.
Shut eyelids, reformed to rest.
Un-nurtured yet strong despite distaste for distance.
We'd dance through the burning in our heels; they'd burn into the morrow.

Until you speak in tongues I will lay still for your signal.
Close to the earth, to stay close to you.
It all became one great idea.

Covered by the same bind I claim we move as one.
Smothered in your rich nature, the autumn kisses singled out tonight.
Treasured in my chest, as if as valuable as gold.

Disguises that vanished.
We stay subtle and subdued.
Our romance retrieved back from poker chips.
Won from our past memories.

I couldn't ever disguise this.
An imperial love, I could never resist you.
