Names In Scarlet

by bex   Dec 13, 2005

Feeling like I'm ugly, ugly through this ragged portrait
Nominated as, `the one most likely to fall`
Will you watch me while I stall?
Close your eyes
Could you picture me, unaltered?
When I stood in front of you all, eyes watching for me to fall

Stunning is his beauty
I'll cradle these snap shots 'till they've gained their focus
Hailed to be the heartbreaker, love left at the door
No marks upon his sleeves
At night his eyes stream scarlet
Those names carved on his door

Interpret no more meaning; the game has lost its goal
Feeling ugly, lost in streams of scarlet on his floor
Our names engraved so deeply, enchanted for protection
Falling faster, blurred in motion, catching names from days before
Tired of this ugly portrait, ragged from his claws
Scarlet cuts join scarlet words, a collection of blood clot nerves
