Portrait of The Mind

by JJ   Dec 17, 2005

Stubborn tears
trickle down
her pretty face
staining marks
of imperfection

constant reminders
of the pain
that lies concealed
behind this image
she portrays

seemingly flawless
her perfect smile
is merely an illusion
a portrait of the mind
shadows in a stranger's eye

(and suggestions are always appreciated)

I like the intriguing way you wrote this. It's a very deep piece that leaves alot to perception.
I also admire the ending, very wise! Keep it up~Holly
