Loving You

by Scrittore   Dec 20, 2005

The way things were, it will never be again
You once told me you loved me
But that was all some bullshit
How can you say those words
Then turn your back on me?
When the going gets tough
You turn around and flee

I will still love you but don’t expect my love
Don’t think I’ll be here waiting
When you realized what you lost
Can’t tell me you never look back
On all the things we used to be
I’ll still be lovin’ you when you don’t love me

Now it seems, like a distant memory
The truth is now long gone
Like a forgotten dream
How can things change so fast
Like a long forgotten past
I gave my heart to you
And I can never get it back

I will still love you but don’t expect my love
Don’t think I’ll be here waiting
When you realized what you lost
Can’t tell me you never look back
On all the things we used to be
I’ll still be lovin’ you when you don’t love me

Hi Scrittore. This poem reads deep. I like the meaning these lines. The contradictions here give a space for imagination of the kind of love you're trying to portray. I read it a couple of times and this is one poem you had to keep reading to get the feeling. It actually means more to me after the second read. =) I enjoyed this song as well. Thanks for sharing.
