The Chamber

by Hades   Dec 21, 2005

Beneath the Earth, under the walls,
Behind the creaking door,
Lies a land of fear and shadow
None have seen before.

Many say it's just a room
But I see what they don't
They will say that nothing's there
But I've gone where they won't.

At first glance, it's just a room
But dark and deathly cold,
But deeper in, still deeper search
Beyond the dust and mold.

Find your way within the dark
Through cobwebs you must fight
Close your eyes and count to ten
There's something in the night

A sudden wind blows by your face
And chills you to the bone,
Ignore what your eyes tell you
You're no longer alone.

Do you believe in ghosts my friend?
Or do you think they're fake?
Stories to scare children
And make their small bones shake?

I close the door upon this tale
And I far from it I stay,
Your choice is simple, linger on
Or live another day.
