In the dark of night
i awaken from sleep
i dare not wander
i dare not speak
my place of cold
my place of fear
i wish to scream,
so all can hear
the words i have been longing to say
lodged in my throat, planted they must stay
these four walls have held me captive
for too long, too long to accept it
the voices from out my door
scream at me to not explore
the world beyond my room of sadness
for passed the door and passed the walls,
all it is, is madness
i will do as they say and stay safe in depression
never to escape, not for a second
