Glass Walls Of A Shadow...

by christina marie   Jan 9, 2006

Yesterday...I went to visit her...
I asked the doctors how she was doing,
They said she stopped hallucinating...
But she still urged the need to cut.

I asked to go inside,
They told me to be careful...
"She's crazy!" They told me.
"She's just misunderstood..." I whispered.

They let me in like they always did,
I sat in the chair across from her,
She stared at me,
Putting her hands up to the glass wall.

Her blood smeared across the once clean glass,
She pressed her face against the glass...
She expressed the pain she felt,
She told me she needed to get out...

I put my hands up to the glass,
Looked into her emotionless eyes,
Her breath fogged the mirror,
As she pleaded to me, "Release me..."

I asked her what was stopping her,
"Just open up the door."
She looked at me grimly,
"...release me...from your shadow..."

I backed away from the glass,
She stepped right through,
She grasped my hands, whispering and sobbing into my ear,
"I don't want to be in your shadow...anymore..."

**Please tell me what you think...**
