Scenic Route

by bex   Jan 18, 2006

Heavy hearts shield heavy heads
Let's take the scenic route
Branches around your feet, will you even try to struggle free?
With vines around my neck, I can't say much more
A grasp out of reach, fingertips stretched to feel your palm
Take your hand away
You're smothered in the branches
I can hear your breathing but your heart couldn't be more dead
I can remember your kiss but your lips don't taste so sweet
Close the door on this

Cold eyes silence cold fears
I couldn't be more wrong, too far gone to retrace
I wouldn't let this route slow us down
But I don't hold the map
Your foot prints lay so delicate
Each outline incomplete
These branches wrapped around my wrists
Will you struggle to break me free?
