One look and I am lost

by Flying Phoenix   Jan 20, 2006

Your gaze tears right through me
Ripping my shields apart
Long forgotten emotions
Bring me right back to the start
Over this time I healed
And concealed my pain well
Yet one glance and I surrender
I've been caught again
Under your spell
Hatred and anger
Blossom within
Disguising other thoughts I dare
When my guard is caught unaware
A wound long healed
Is torn apart with spite
A battle throughout me commences
After just a passing sight
But your look my way did not linger
No adoring air that you before gave
Then it did not bother me
But without is when I feel its crave
My dreams you shattered
Shredded without remorse
Still inside I have forgiven you
As love continues its course
How could you return to my life?
Watch me wither by your presence there?
I had finally forgotten you
This life cannot truely be fair
My heart has betrayed me
Forgiven you with ease
Have you changed at all for good?
Or do you still do as you please?
This treacherous journey
Has begun once again
All because god created
Evil personified in men
With a sinking sigh
I crumble as before
Unfortunately for me
It is you I still want
To live for
